Monday Mayhem – Let’s Play Catch-up

It’s bullet point day! I know you’re all as excited as I am, so let’s get to it. Here are the pertinent facts in the order generated by my highly disordered brain:

1) I just realized that Inamorata releases in two weeks! Woooot!

2) Went to a beginner yoga class on Saturday and it almost killed me. Seriously, my abs haven’t hurt this bad since I tried to follow Denise Austin’s Pilates tape (Yes, I said tape. I’m old.) I remember the night I was afraid I’d never pull myself out of the bathtub like it was yesterday. I saw myself dying there, shivering and shriveled, and still without a six pack. Oh, wait. That was yesterday…

3) Still running. Still hate the process and love the results.

4) Got the nicest email from a reader about Spring Chickens. Want to make an author’s day? (Any author – not just me) Drop a line, write a review, Tweet, FB, Pin, or smoke signal them and tell them that you appreciate their work. We are delicate little flowers. We need sunshine and love and a constant sprinkling of reassurance. Seriously, something as simple as ‘I loved it’ makes us want to dance. Sometimes I even jitterbug.

5) I’m moved into my new daytime digs and feeling my way through the new job. I’m on the opposite end of the building from where I spent the last 7 years. My parking routine is completely out of whack.

6) Monday. *sigh* I miss Castle.

7) Leo Sayer is playing on my iPod. Don’t judge.

8 ) I may or may not (that’s my oh-so-subtle way of playing it coy) be planning to write a little short story involving Maggie McCann and the Sullivan clan for an anthology. They’ve all been chattering in my head, making plans, vying for dialogue…the usual.

9) I’m heading to the Annual Reader and Author Get Together in Cincinnati June 1-2 at the Marriott north. I’ll be signing books Friday, June 1from 7-9PM. If you’re in the area, please come by and say hi! Here’s the 4-1-1!

10) Long weekend coming up! I plan to sleep, eat, and write. What are your plans?

  1. You make me feel like dancing! 😉 I so cannot wait for the release of Inamorata! I’ve already started gathering supplies for the next sandwich board.

I still use a tape when I do Windsor Pilates. And I play it in my dinosaur TV that has a built-in VCR.

Have I ever told you how much I appreciate your work? I have a picture of you on my wall.

    Congrats on your new digs!

See you sooooon! It’s so great being able to say that. *dances* 😀

  2. Well, after finally, maybe, feeling better, I plan on working til Thursday then come Friday morning we head out for our annual Memorial Day camping trip. Already have basically everything bought food wise. Pounds of bacon, tons of dogs, fixings for s’mores have been purchased. There definitely won’t be any dieting happening.

Yay for Inamorata coming out soon. Double yay for seeing (maybe) Maggie and the Sullivans again.

  3. My dear Ms. Ethridge,
In vain have I struggled. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love your exquisite writing. Most definitely I will journey to Cincinnati with your latest book clutched to my breast, hoping for a mere glimpse of your most tolerable eyes, and the — dare I say? — the scratch of your pen against my frontispiece.

My heart beats all the harder at the news of the Sullivan clan once again whispering in your ear. Perhaps it does not beat quite as stridently as it would should you deign to follow the whisper I placed in your ear the preceding week, that of the magical word Slip. But Maggie and the Sullivans would also be a most joyous read.

As for activities planned for this coming long weekend, pray, what is a weekend? On the Sabbath forthcoming I plan to lie on the chaise and watch motorcars from morning until late at night, first racing at Monaco, then at Indianapolis, and finally at Charlotte.

I hate to add that the esteemed Mr. Castle and I have had a falling out. ‘Tis my fervent hope that by autumn we will have made peace again.

And now my dearest Margaret, I bid you adieu, until we meet again at the wondrous Marriott in Cincinnati.

  4. 1. Yay! Can’t wait for Frank & Gina. *giggle*
    2. I have a Winsor Pilates dvd sitting on my coffee table. I haven’t had the guts to try it yet. It sits there mocking me!
    3. Ditto. I’m stuck on a weight plateau after losing pretty regularly. Luckily I haven’t gone back up, but I need to break the dead lock. Ran another mile again today.
    4. I appreciate you!
    5. I know that parking routine feeling when I moved from the 2nd floor to the 3rd floor, then down to the 1st floor.
    6. Monday…uh, I got nothing.
    7. My mp3 player has been pretty much The Cure. Big surprise there! Getting psyched up for my trip to Italy.
    8. *wide eyed excitement* Yippy 🙂
    9. Have a great time. Lots of group hugs please.
    10. Yay long weekend. No plans to speak of so far. I’m sure I’ll find something to do.

    Miss you Mags.

  5. P.S. – I had to giggle that Laurie has Smores supplies. Reminds me of my cooking segment with Copop. Hee hee! “In theory…the chocolate should melt.” Good times.

  6. Your posts bring such smiles to my face. Good for you keeping up with all this physical stuff. It was our long weekend this one just past so I laid in bed or sat in a lawn chair reading the 50 Shades trilogy. That was my excitement for ya.
Totally can’t wait to see you at the Lori Foster event. *dances*
