Monday Mayhem – Simple Pleasures

Posted on Apr 16, 2012 by Margaret Ethridge   4 Comments | Posted in Blog

This weekend, I experienced a number of life’s simple pleasures. Even better, I took the time to appreciate each and every one of them. Here are the top five:
1) The crispy, seared edges of a perfectly grilled Steakburger.
2) The sweet smell of a baby’s soft, downy head.
3) Helpless laughter. The kind that spawns tears. (Thank you, Mom.)
4) Friendships as comfortable as the perfect pair of slippers.
5) Welcome home hugs and kisses from the hottie waiting at the airport.
How about you? What simple pleasures have you experienced lately?

Mmmm, simple pleasures. Now I feel like one of these: http://www.darefoods.com/Img/Flavours/SimplePleasuresCookies_Cinnamon.jpg

I love that you took the time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. It makes you realize how lucky you are. 🙂

Today I hiked up the wooded trail to the university, and it was pretty windy at the time, and the wind blew all the new buds off the trees so there were white flowers floating down all around me. I felt like I was in heaven.

I experienced the pleasure of a Sonic Diet Limeaid, that I drove 35 miles for! I needed it after a workout. Driving through the country on a sunny day after a workout, with the tunes blaring sipping on my limeaid. Good times. 🙂

That sounds like a fun weekend!

I guess my simple pleasures this weekend were hanging out with my niece and nephews at the park, playing with my crazy dog, and sewing – it’s nice to end up with something that you made yourself, even if it’s not perfect

A 45 minute nap while the radio played. Making my granddaughter giggle and smile as I blew raspberries on her feet. The first sip of a Diet Coke after having to endure Coke Zero ;>)
