LoveLettersVol3

Tasty, huh?

Here’s the scoop on this sizzling hot volume:

Verbal foreplay goes a long way in these four steamy stories in Love Letters Volume 3: Wicked Whispers.

I Is for Indecent by Christina Thacher
Annie Forrest doesn’t think flirtatious Stefan Cox is seriously interested in her—until he starts describing what it will be like when they strip away their inhibitions and their clothes. But do they have anything in common besides their gift for dirty talk?

J Is for Jaded by Maggie Wells
Voice actress Julie Poplin secretly thinks about rocker-turned-sound-engineer Vaughan Hatch when she needs to make passion leap from the page while narrating a steamy audio book. But their recording session takes a seductive turn when she accidentally speaks Vaughan’s name instead of the hero’s…

K Is for Kick-Start by Ginny Glass
Author Sophie Maddox has a bad case of writer’s block and a distractingly handsome editor clamoring for her newest sexy romance. She’s tempted by Oliver’s offer to use his place to write—and even more tempted to act out scenes when a typo reveals she’s been using him as inspiration.

L Is for Lessons by Emily Cale
When Chloe turns to her friend Bethany for help earning some extra cash, she’s shocked to discover that Bethany is a phone sex operator…and is intrigued by her offer to teach Chloe the ropes. But neither of them is prepared for the unexpected desire their lesson unleashes.

Weekend Writing Warrior 4/21/13

This week’s selection comes from book #5 in the Hot Nights in St. Blaise series – Mr. Mayhem

“You don’t get to call all the shots.”

His voice came low and soft, wrapping around her ankles like smoke and wafting over her. Staring into his ebony eyes, it was impossible to pretend she didn’t know exactly what he meant. Precious oxygen seeped from her lungs.

“I don’t mind you callin’ some of them. Like what happened earlier…” His drawl deepened, flowing thick and rich as molasses over the rough edges of a raspy laugh. “As a matter of fact, I like a woman with a take-charge attitude.”

Mr. Mayhem coming soon from Turquoise Morning Press

Lab tech Melanie Curtis claims Dr. Marc Mayhew’s shy smile won her vote for Mr. May, but the fact is, she’s been aching to get a taste of the delicious Pathologist’s mochachino skin since the moment she set eyes on him.

Quiet and reserved, Marc was happy to take refuge in his research until she walked into his lab. He tried to ignore the attraction that sparked and sizzled each time she drew near, all too aware of the strict edicts issued by the hospital’s Human Resources department, but he couldn’t deny that he wouldn’t mind subjugating himself to his bossy little subordinate. Over and over again.

The only variable he couldn’t predict was how far Melanie was willing to go to get the results she expected. When she tests his mettle, Marc finds he’s more than willing to risk everything on a case of chemistry run amok if it means he can claim her as his. For keeps.

Look!

The cover art fairy dropped a little mayhem into my inbox this morning! Feast your eyes on the delicious Dr. Mayhew!

Friday Flashers – Guest Flasher!

Evelyn Jules is here to show off her bits!

Friday Flashers

Hi everyone! My best pal, Maggie, was so kind to have me here today. I might have a slight in because I’m her Clodhopper supplier, but she totally liked me before she knew the chocolate-covered graham cracker clusters existed. I think. 😉 Anyway, I’d like to take a minute and flash you. Not that kind of flashing, you dirty birdies. I just finished writing my first ever cowboy story called Chasing Destiny, and I’d like to share an excerpt with you. Ready for it? Giddy up!

~~~~
He shook his head. “I guess you’ve lost your sense of adventure.”
Indignation lit her up like a firecracker. “I have not.” She wanted to slap the no-good know-it-all, but her mind and body weren’t known for their communication skills. So she kissed him. A firm, possessive kiss that caught them both by surprise. Her lips burned from the stubble that grazed his upper lip. Her eyes were open wide, not from fear but adrenaline.
“How’s that for adventurous?” she panted.
“That’s a good start,” he growled, gathering her in for another lip lock. This time he took the reins. His arms banded her to him. His lips lingered against hers, and when she gave him the barest opening, his tongue swept into her mouth. She shuddered from the impact of the kiss but he held strong, proving to her beyond a shadow of a doubt that the reward was greater than the risk. Being in this man’s arms for a moment was better than a lifetime of unfulfilled dreams.
Hope you enjoyed! Thanks again for hosting me, Maggie! 🙂
This week’s #8Sunday is taken from D is for Detained my contribution to Love Letters Volume 1: Obeying Desire coming April 8, 2013!
“We used to be friends,” he said, his voice low and gruff even to his own ears.
“Is that what we were?”
Regret weighed heavily in the saturated air, but his mouth ran dry. She blinked, the thick fringe of dark lashes fanning the flames heating his blood. As if drawn by an invisible string, her body swayed toward his. He cupped her cheek and stroked the line of her jaw with the pad of his thumb. Proximity alone wrung a confession from his parched lips. “I wanted you so much.”
“It’s Sherriff,” he corrected. Pulling the flowers from behind his back, he thrust them at her. “You’ve been served.”
“Oh, my,” she said as she gathered the bouquet into her arms. “You brought me guilt flowers? What did you do?”
Tipping his hat back, he flashed a smile. “Impure thoughts.”
Friday Flashers 3/22/13
Friday Flashers
Today I thought I’d share a bit of a short story that’s been collecting dust in a file folder for a few months, but is about to get a delightfully sexy overhaul. 🙂 The working title of this story is Going Deep.
Gathering all the ammunition in her arsenal of ace-reporting, Brooke lobbed her most pressing, hard-hitting, newsworthy question at him. “Why did you kiss me?”
“I wanted to.”
He answered without missing a beat. The realization that he’d expected her to ask made her cheeks flare, but the need to take him down a notch burned hotter. Feeling vulnerable, she struck back at the one spot she knew might still be touchy for him.
“Pretty ballsy for a quiet guy like you to kiss the Homecoming Queen in front of the whole school. Must have taken weeks of planning. Were there charts involved?”
Brian’s smile faded, but he kept the oh-so-familiar smirk in place. The sardonic eyebrow twitch that dogged her all through high school was back too, but she knew the blow hit home. She’d been high school royalty—popular, pretty, and well-liked enough to be voted Queen of every dance as well as Student Body President. His only social triumph was being elected President of the Science Club.
His eyes narrowed but remained locked on hers. “You mean a nerdy guy like me.”
The intensity of his stare dredged up a raft of insecurities she thought she’d jettisoned years before. “You hated me all through school.”
“That’s not true.”
His voice was melodious and deep. The confidence ringing through the cooled molasses thickness of his drawl proved more seductive than poetry. He wasn’t that nerdy boy anymore. This man knew damn well the effect he had on women.
She held his gaze. “Why am I here?”
“Your paper wanted an interview.”
The simple answer wasn’t good enough. “Why me?”
“I wanted you.”
Happy Friday, my friends!
This week I’m sharing a snippet from my upcoming release, Always Miss April (Hot Nights in St. Blaise book #4).
“I could kiss you now…you know, if you want to test drive before you buy.”
“You’ve lost your mind,” she whispered.
The caress of her warm, damp breath against his throat had him picturing her under him, over him, all around him. As usual, the mere thought of them together at last ratcheted his hard-on from half-hearted to whole-hearted in two-point-three seconds. The self-control he’d clung to for too many years to remember finally snapped.
“I can’t take it anymore, Mari.” He slid his hands up to cradle her neck, his thumbs tracing the stubborn line of her jaw. “First, I had to deal with the fact that I was too slow and too dumb to grab you when I had the chance.”
Friday Flashers 3/8/13
Friday Flashers
Okay, so a couple of people pointed out that I got so excited about the cover art for Love Letters Volume 2: Duty to Please that I forgot to tease you with share a bit of my story from Love Letters Volume 1: Obeying Desire.
CARINA_0413_9781426895357
Allow me to remedy that right away. Here’s the official 4-1-1:
D is for Detained by Maggie Wells
He was the preacher’s son, her parents owned the local sex shop. Sherry Adams and Tyler Prescott’s attraction was forbidden when they were teenagers, but years later Deputy Tyler takes out his trusty handcuffs to show her just how good they could be together.
And a tidbit to tide you over:
“Freeze! Hands in the air!”
Her skull cracked against the counter. She cussed, lifting one hand to rub away the ache and whirling to confront her attacker. “Christ, wha—”
She gaped at the shadow in the doorway. The peaked crown of his hat brushed the door casing, and his shoulders filled the breadth of the opening. Backlit by the blistering summer sun, the guy looked enormous.
“Hands in the air,” he repeated.
Astounded by the sight of a gun pointed in her direction, it took a full minute for her to recognize the voice. She blinked but the rest of her motor skills seemed stunned by the blow. Her hands inched toward the ceiling. “Tyler?”
“Sherry?” Instantly, he lowered the gun. His jaw almost scraped the filthy linoleum floor.
“Hey.” The little finger wave made her look stupid and awkward, but making a fool of herself over him was nothing new. The minute Tyler Prescott glanced in her direction, the stupid and awkward came pouring out of her.
“Sherry…Sherry Garcia Adams.”
She’d like to claim the name was a remnant of a misunderstood youth, a leftover taunt hurled by a guy who hadn’t outgrown his teenaged prejudices. Unfortunately, the man might have been reading her birth certificate verbatim. She had to be the only girl in the world whose own mother serenaded her with “Truckin’” each year instead of “Happy Birthday.”
Still, when Tyler Prescott said her ridiculous name in his down and dirty, burrowing twenty-gazillion-leagues-under-her-skin drawl…well, a little thrill chased down her spine. And if the fact that he remembered her name at all wasn’t enough to get a girl all squealy-giggly, the pseudo-reverence in his tone had the tiny hairs on the back of her neck standing at attention.
She assumed he faked the awe in his voice. Sherry had no idea why the chosen son of Serenity would be impressed with her presence.
“Hey, Tyler.” She lowered her half-raised hands and scraped her damp palms over the seat of her cargo shorts, trying to ignore her throbbing skull. He stared at her as if she were an alien beamed down from the planet Stupefy. “Uh, how’ve you been?”
Another brilliant question, but he stood stock-still in the doorway staring at her and it was making her nervous. Tyler Prescott was a paragon in their tiny town, and paragons made her twitchy. In high school, he’d been the captain of the football team and class president four years running. The resident handsome-as-sin preacher’s kid. Every town had one.
She flashed back to those interminable Sundays when she’d slip out of bed early to sneak into town to go to church. Tyler was one of the few people in Serenity who’d treated her like she was a normal person and not the girl their classmates crowned Porn Queen.
I am a Weekend Writing Warrior!
My first entry as a Weekend Writing Warrior! Here’s a bit of delish from my upcoming release, March Madness (Book #3 in the Hot Nights in St. Blaise series)
Eight sentences from March Madness:
“Christ, you’re hot,” he growled.
“You’re hot too.”
He laughed. “No, I meant…I can feel you…”
She arched her back and the sensation of hot woman pressing against hard dick blew up the tracks his train of thought had been traveling. Turning on his heel, he pinned her to the nearest flat surface and reclaimed her mouth. The fridge rocked in time with her circling hips. Her hands fluttered, touching him everywhere, but not nearly enough.
March_MD
Shelli Ann Jones never considered ‘It takes one to know one’ an effective pick-up line, but when she runs headlong into St. Blaise Regional Medical Center’s elusive Mr. March, she revises her opinion.
Trauma Surgeon Kevin O’Shea should come with a sign that reads BEWARE OF THE DOG, but Shelli Ann couldn’t hold that against him. She only wanted him for his body. At first.
Kevin is fascinated by his new neighbor. So fascinated, he might be turning into peeping Kevin.
The tables turn when Shelli Ann uses the same meaningless flirtation, casual intimacy, and careful standoffishness Kevin thought he had trademarked against him, forcing him to unleash the full force of his dogged determination in his pursuit to win the heart of the only woman who could break his.
