Weekend Writing Warrior – 2/9/14

I’m back! I missed you all!

Here are eight sentences from my latest release, The Art Lover:

“I promise you’ll like the trouble I have planned for you, Officer Jameson.”

He blinked but didn’t back down as she approached. “Seems any friend of Bert and Miri’s should just call me Mitch.”

She liked the sexy bravado that backed the insolent once-over he used as a defense. Raising her hand to her throat, she waited until she was sure his eyes followed. Her fingertips were coated in a shade of teal one could only get from a glob of canary smooshed with a bead of cerulean. Reverting to her favorite canvas, she trailed them from the hollow of her throat through the valley between her breasts, tracing the exact route she hoped his mouth would take. And soon.

Starving artist Kelsey Tecato takes being The Templeton Museum’s artist in residence a little too literally. By day, she puts on a show of painting for the crowds that shuffle through the galleries, but at night, her muse runs wild.

Mitch Jameson is a guy’s guy. A cop moonlighting as a security guard, he has little use for the artsy-fartsy stuff, but the mysterious Ms. Tecato’s sexy portraits call to him.

So does an interior alarm.

When Officer Jameson goes to investigate, he finds a paint-splattered goddess working on a self-portrait–in the nude.

A couple tubes of paint and a roll in the drop cloths later, free-spirited Kelsey helps Officer Jameson discover his passion for art.

Be sure to check out all of the fabulous Weekend Writing Warriors! See you soon!

Holy jeez. This is insanely hot. Honestly. Every time I read an excerpt from this book I have a yearning to become a painter. Or a nudist. Either way. 😀

She might want to wash some of the paint off before his mouth is all over her. I don’t imagine it tastes very good. 😀

Love the description of the color on her fingertips–a nice touch that shows she’s an artist. Though I do wonder if the paint is dry or not.
