Weekend Writing Warrior – 3/29/15

Here are eight more from  my work in progress, Play Dates. It’s a contemporary romance about a woman whose little niece helps her snag the man of her dreams.

“You know, you have to pick your battles,” he said with a rueful shake of his head. “I fought it to start, but then you realize it just doesn’t matter. I mean, girls play with trucks and Legos and stuff, right?”

“Was that supposed to somehow sound less sexist?”

He had the good grace to wince. “In my head it sounded better.” Rocking back on his heels, he shot her a sidelong glance and dropped his voice to a conspiratorial whisper. “I haven’t done this in a while.”
