Weekend Writing Warrior – 3/22/15

Hi all! I’m back with a few more lines from my current work in progress, Play Dates. It’s a contemporary romance about a woman whose little niece helps her snag the man of her dreams. I hope you enjoy them!

****

“Most boys don’t play with dolls, honey.”

“Some do,” a deep voice interrupted.

Gripping Emma’s arms to steady herself, Monica whipped her head around. She knew who that voice belonged to before she spotted him standing near the faux rock-climbing wall. Saturdaddy number one. Mr. Tall, Dark and Dreamy. He stared straight at her, his chin lifted high and his eyes narrowed to slits. Cripes, he was even more gorgeous up-close.

****

That’s all I have for now. Be sure to check out all of the Weekend Writing Warrior posts here.

Happy Sunday!

Wow. A dynamite snippet. Saturdaddy? Funny. Mr. Right? Maybe.

LOL, still giggling over Saturdaddy. The premise for this story is so clever. Hope she and Mr. Tall, Dark, and Dreamy set up a play date in the very near future.

I’ll pile on the praise for “Saturdaddy.” Hee, you rock with the nicknames. And the smouldering sexy stuff! Here’s to hearing some more “up close” observations next week!

Saturdaddy! Mr.Tall Dark and Dreamy! I love it, sounds just like something I would have said with my girl friends back in my single days. Wonderful eight!

By the looks of it we all love the nickname Saturdaddy. Great snippet. I’m sure that man may want to play with the ‘doll’ in front of him.

He sounds like he’s challenging her. Makes me wonder if he has a little boy who plays with dolls… and is teased for it.

Saturdaddy, cute. I like that it was the deep masculine voice countering her comment about dolls and that she was so taken with his looks. He sounds yummy.
